Although we try very hard never to have a rainy day in Ocean City - late night/early mornng rain is acceptable! - we have been seeing much too much rain during the day lately. So once you have walked the boardwalk, stopped in the stores and shopped Asbury Avenue, what else is there to do? Go for a drive and visit Teaberry Antiques, Collectibles and Gifts on Rt 9 in Clermont. It is a fun store to browse. There are over 65 dealers who have booths set up there so there really is something for just about any taste! What I like best is that the store is pretty new so it is bright and clean! I am not into those antique stores where you have to dig through years of dust to see what something looks like. There are some items that are new, others that are not. Everything is very well organized, the aisles are wide enough that you can browse without being in someone's way. There is also a small eating area where they sell sandwiches, drinks, bagels, etc. Nothing too fancy.
Right next to Teaberry's is one of my favorite stores - Cape May Wicker. Just ask me and I will show you what I have purchased there. Besides furniture, there are candles, silk flowers, wreaths and lots of other things. Those who were here early spring may have seen the butterfly attached to my porch railing. I purchased that at Cape May Wicker. You never know what you are going to find when you go there.
Across the street is Woodland Village and Garden Greenhouse. More shops to browse! If you enjoy gardening, check out the plants and flowers in the Greenhouse. A lot of it is under cover so you can still browse and stay dry!
So the next time you are at Serendipity and a rain cloud creeps under our protective umbrella, don't think there is nothing to do! Just ask me for directions to Teaberry's!
